The Perfect Eyelash Styles For Your Eye Shape

The Perfect Eyelash Styles For Your Eye Shape

Hey Visani babes,

It’s good to see you back again! Today, we have a special blog post focusing on enhancing the beauty of your eyes by understanding what eyelash styles will compliment you and tie your entire look together.

Choosing the right false eyelashes for your eye shape can help create a more balanced and flattering look. The false eyelash market can be very intimidating with the vast styles to choose from. As usual, I’ve got you covered. I will walk you through some general guidelines for selecting eyelashes that work best for different eye shapes. It is important to note that you could fall into more than one eye shape category:

1. Almond-Shaped Eyes:

Almond-shaped eyes are considered the most versatile. They have a slightly upturned outer corner, with a natural symmetry that allows for a wide range of lash styles. However, lash styles that are mostly a hit with almond-shaped eyes are cat-eye and demi lashes (lashes that are usually cut and placed at the outer corner of the eyes). Some celebrities with almond-shaped eyes are Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna.

2. Round Eyes:

Round eyes tend to appear larger and more open. They are more circular and have a visible crease. Your choice of lashes should aim to balance out and not over exaggerate the roundness of your eyes. I would suggest choosing lashes that are shorter in the inner corner of the eyes, longer in the center and taper towards the outer corners to elongate and lift the eyes. Winged, long and wispy, criss-cross patterned lashes can enhance the beauty of round-shaped eyes, adding a sultry effect. Some celebrities with round-shaped eyes are Ashley Olsen and Katy Perry.

3. Hooded Eyes:

Hooded eyes have a natural fold of skin that covers the crease. The goal in choosing lashes for hooded eyes is to prevent your eyes from looking even more closed, which occurs when you opt for overly long and heavy lashes. Using lashes that are shorter in length is ideal and would enhance the beauty of your hooded eyes. Lashes with a natural curl can help lift and open up hooded eyes as well. Some celebrities with hooded eyes are Gabrielle Union, Taylor Swift, and Oprah Winfrey.

4. Monolid Eyes:

Monolid eyes typically lack a visible crease, which creates a smoother and flatter appearance. When choosing lashes with monolid eyes, it is important to select lashes with a curl or criss-cross pattern to add depth and dimension to the eyes. Lashes with a flared or winged design can also create the illusion of a crease. It is crucial to ensure the selected lash style follows the natural curve of your eyelid. Some celebrities with Monolid eyes are Lucy Lui, Jung Ho-Yeon, and Sandra Oh.

5. Deep-Set Eyes:

Deep-set eyes are set deeper into the eye socket, often with a prominent eyebone. Opt for longer lashes with natural volume to make the eyes pop and stand out. Avoid excessively long lashes with heavy volume that may touch the brow bone when the eyes are open or cast a shadow around the eyes; this can make the eyes appear more deeply set. Some celebrities with deep-set eyes are Kerry Washington, Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.

6. Close-Set Eyes:

Close-set eyes have a smaller space between them. Lashes for close-set eyes should aim to visually separate the eyes. Choose lashes that are longer and fuller towards the outer corners to create the illusion of wider-set eyes. Avoid lashes that are too long in the inner corners, as they can make close-set eyes appear even closer. Some celebrities with close-set eyes are Jessica Parker and Miley Cyrus.

7. Wide-Set Eyes:

Wide-set eyes have more space between them. Look for lashes with an even length distribution or with added volume in the center to bring focus towards the center of the face. Avoid lashes that are too long at the inner or outer corners (cat-eye styles), as they can make wide-set eyes appear even wider. Some celebrities with wide-set eyes are Halle Bailey, Brandy, and Gemma Ward.

8. Upturned Eyes:

Upturned eyes have a slight upward tilt at the outer corners. They often appear very lifted and can benefit from styles that emphasize the outer corners. Choose lashes with a winged or flared design to enhance the natural uplift of the eyes. Lashes that are longer at the outer corners can emphasize the upturned shape. Some celebrities with upturned eyes are Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift.

9. Downturned Eyes:

Downturned eyes have a slight droop at the outer corners, also known as “puppy dog eyes”. Your choice of lashes should aim to balance and uplift the eyes. Opt for lashes with a subtle curl or ones that flare upward at the outer edges to create a lifted appearance. Avoid lashes that are too heavy or dramatic at the outer corners (cat-eye styles), as they can accentuate the downturned shape. Some celebrities with downturned eyes are Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney.

Remember that these are general guidelines, and personal preferences play a significant role in choosing eyelashes. It's essential to experiment and find the styles that make you feel confident and beautiful, regardless of your eye shape.

Additionally, finding lashes that fit or customizing the length of your lashes to fit your eye shape is one of the most important take aways from today's post. Do not be afraid to cut your false lashes to fit on your eyes properly!

Thanks for stopping by babe! See you in my next blog post.

Stay gorgeous,
